Clearly, I'm not an avid blogger since it's been 2 years! Wish I was. It seems this would be the most creative way to document our travels for family and friends, but alas, life takes over.
But, to catch you up...we've been in Nairobi for over 2 years now. Mary is 9, Will is 8 and Suzy is 2 (going on 15). Joe is in the same job at the Embassy and I have been working part-time as the Newsletter Editor at the Embassy for over a year now, and just quit. That whole "life" thing interfering once again. The kids and I will travel back to LA after Christmas to see Dad and family. If you know me well enough to read this, you know Dad is sick. We are still praying for him to continue to live a full, happy life, free of pain and worry. But, anyway, I quit my job to enjoy the holidays, our time away, and then focus on cleaning out and packing up for our next adventure!
Speaking of our "next" adventure. Joe turned in his bid list on Friday, so we are anxiously awaiting info on where we'll end up. Nothing looked awful, all seemed like nice places to go, but the waiting and NOT knowing is grueling.
I am teaching a Bible Study to ladies on Friday mornings. I absolutely love it. This time, it's on "Using Your Spiritual Gifts." We are all discovering our gifts along the way and it's like a big game of hide and seek! The journey has been a good one so far, and I always look forward to Friday's with my friends. God has so richly blessed us in this place. We have a great Christian school, lots of friends, and wonderful memories to take away with us. We'll be sad to go, but anxious to discover what lies around the corner.
In a most unusual turn of events, a Texas A&M game is on AFN tonight, which makes our house feel like "Fall" in Kenya! So, I'd better sign off - in hopes that the tradition of "kissing when you score" still stands around here! (Though we won't talk about A&M's current record...)
